If you are over 50 and qualify for the Thai Retirement Visa, but your legally married spouse is under 50, they cannot get their own retirement visa. The solution is the Non-O Dependent Visa (O-Follower).
How the Dependent Visa works
- The Primary Applicant: The spouse over 50 applies for the standard Non-O Retirement Visa, meeting the 800,000 THB financial requirement.
- The Dependent: The spouse under 50 applies as a "follower". They do not need to show an additional 800,000 THB.
- Marriage Certificate: The cornerstone of this application is a legalized, officially translated marriage certificate proving the relationship.
Notice: The dependent visa expires on the exact same date as the primary retirement visa. Both renewals must be processed together every year.
