What changed at Phuket Immigration this week (and recent weeks)
We file retirement visa work inside Phuket Town every week. When the officers, the bank letter format, or the documents shift, we log it here within 7 days. No second-hand forum gossip — direct field notes.
-
bank v2026.05.22 Bangkok Bank Patong now stamps bank letters in Thai + English by default
Previously English-only on request. Saves one extra visit when filing at Phuket Town for retirement extensions. Other Bangkok Bank Phuket branches still English-only.
-
tm30 v2026.05.15 TM30 enforcement: late registrations now block 90-day reports same week
Phuket Town previously processed late TM30 + 90-day report concurrently. As of this week, late TM30 must be cleared 48h before the 90-day window opens or the report is rejected at the counter.
-
non-o v2026.05.08 Tourist→Non-O conversion: 21-day stamp window enforced strictly
Officers now reject conversions filed with less than 21 days remaining on the tourist stamp. Was 15 days. Plan the bank-seasoning calendar backwards from this new floor.
-
documents v2026.05.01 Embassy income letter: certified Thai translation mandatory
For Non-O-A income method (65,000 THB/month), the home-country pension letter now requires a stamped Thai translation from a court-registered translator. Notarised home-country translation no longer accepted at Phuket Town.
-
bank v2026.04.20 Kasikorn Bank Phuket: foreign-inflow note now required on statement
Bank statements for 800k seasoning must explicitly tag the deposit as foreign inflow. Kasikorn issues this on request — ask for "FET coded statement" not the standard one.
-
process v2026.04.05 Online 90-day report rejections up after web portal redesign
Thai Immigration online portal redesigned 2 April. Reports submitted in the first week silently rejected; counter visit now safer for the next 30 days while bug is patched.
-
insurance v2026.03.15 Non-O-A insurance: 440,000 THB inpatient minimum confirmed unchanged for 2026
No increase from 2025. List of approved Thai insurers updated on the longstay portal — non-listed insurers (Allianz Care, Cigna Global) require additional Thai-issued top-up coverage.
