The 90-Day Report Online Guide for Phuket Expats

TL;DR (Key Takeaway): Foreigners on long-term visas in Thailand must report their address every 90 days. You can file the report online at tm47.immigration.go.th between 15 days before and exactly on your due date. Your TM30 must be perfectly up-to-date for the online system to approve your report.

Every foreigner staying in Thailand on a long-term visa (including the Retirement Visa) must report their address to Immigration every 90 days. Doing this in person at Phuket Town Immigration can consume half your day. Fortunately, the online system is now highly reliable—if you know the rules.

When to File Online

You can file your 90-day report online starting 15 days before your due date, up until the exact due date. Note: You cannot file online after the due date has passed. If you are late, you must go in person and pay a 2,000 THB fine.

Prerequisites for Online Filing

Before you attempt to use the online system, ensure you meet these strict requirements:

  1. You must have filed at least one 90-day report in person previously. The first report after getting a new visa MUST be done at the immigration office.
  2. Your TM30 must be perfectly up to date. If the system does not show a TM30 matching your current address and latest entry, the online 90-day report will be automatically rejected.
  3. Use a compatible browser. While it has improved, the Immigration system still works best on Chrome or Edge on a desktop computer. Avoid using mobile phones.

Step-by-Step Online Process

  1. Go to the official Thai Immigration online portal (tm47.immigration.go.th).
  2. Register for an account if you haven't already. You will need an email address and a password.
  3. Log in and select "Apply for Notification of Residence (TM.47)".
  4. Fill in your passport details exactly as they appear on your passport. Do not use middle names if they are not explicitly listed in the "Given Name" field.
  5. Submit the application. You will receive a "Pending" status.

Approval and Printing

Approval typically takes 1 to 3 working days. You will receive an email notification when the status changes.

Once approved, log back into the system, view your application, and print the approval receipt. Keep this slip stapled in your passport alongside your visa, as you will need to show it when you do your next 90-day report or visa extension.

Before you act on this guide

Visa outcomes depend on age, nationality, current stamp, address proof, bank route and local timing. Use the article as a decision aid, then confirm the exact path before moving money or booking appointments.

  • Does your current entry stamp leave enough days?
  • Will your bank show the funds as a foreign inflow?
  • Does your Phuket address match lease, owner papers and TM30?
  • Do you need embassy documents, insurance or translated certificates?
